About My Work
For over 20 years, my work has comprised three distinct strands; ceramic sculpture, coloured glass mosaic and community art. Soft & white porcelain, bright & colourful glass commissions and a cheerful nurturing of the natural creativity that we all innately possess. Previously, my forest Sculpture Garden was a magical haven for nature and people alike. Since moving 5 years ago and a 2 yar commitment to the UK anti fracking campaign, it's taken some time to re-set up the studio. Recent work making porcelain fungi is inspired by research mycologist and grower Paul Stamets and refers to the vast number of qualities fungi have to clean up oil, diesel and even radioactive pollution, to feed us, make soil, nurture woodlands and support life itself. The work spotlights the translucency of the porcelain which casts wonderfully calming atmospheric light from the darkness. One purchaser describes turning on her Fungi lamp to aid relaxation saying, 'It's lamp time.' I currently work in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, UK and ship worldwide.
